Yesterday, duncandahusky and I decided to go out after dinner and hit Prairie Croissant, a little coffee shop in Prairie Crossing. The place had a very interesting vibe to it, very alternative, yuppie place. Afterwards, we walked around a bit to tour the neighborhood, and once realizing that mosquitos love us, we decided to do a driving tour of the development. This development is rather unique in the Chicagoland area, encouraging recycling and composting, encouraging not mowing your lawn and letting native grasses grow in your yard.. They are across the street from 2 train lines and also the furthest north point for iGo car rental, which makes for living without a car. The only thing I was disappointed with was while they had a giant windmill, we didn't see any solar panels on the houses. On seeing the hybrid cars in the driveways and political bumper stickers, Duncan remarked, " Coming to this place makes you a democrat." The only downside to this place is that the landfill is really close to this place and on bad days, you can smell it throughout. Current Location: Globe of Doom! Current Mood: awake
